Greene, John
Language Arts Teacher, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion Coordinator
FBRA Boys

John is serving as the 8th grade language arts teacher for the 22-23 academic year. This will be his second year with FBRA having previously worked in higher education. John was the outdoor program coordinator for West Virginia University specializing in leadership development and serving as a faculty member in the Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources department.

John has been working in the outdoor industry for the past fourteen years at a variety of recreational, educational, developmental, and therapeutic programs across the country. He earned a BA in WIlderness Leadership and Experiential Education from Brevard College and a MS in Recreation Parks and Tourism Resources from West Virginia University. John is passionate about connecting learners to each other and the places that make experience meaningful. His ultimate goal as a teacher is guiding students toward critical independent thought.

John is a passionate outdoor user, enjoying time spent in the wilderness on rivers, lakes, trails, cliffs, and snow. John is probably most at home in his kayak, but as a lifelong learner he works hard to try new things on a regular basis, believing in growth through challenge. When not outside John seeks to find challenge in the kitchen as a passionate baker.
