More About Katherine: Katherine grew up in a military family and moved around a lot, but she was lucky enough to return for many summers as a camper and counselor at Camp Green Cove. After college, Katherine spent five years in Jackson Hole, working at the ski resort, in Grand Teton National Park, and finally with adults with developmental disabilities.  She then returned to Virginia to earn her Master’s in Education at the University of Virginia.

Before joining FBRA in 2016, Katherine taught middle school language arts for 10 years in Washington, D.C. and Denver, CO, where she also led backpacking clubs and snow sports clubs. She loves middle schoolers and is grateful that she gets to read and write with these young people as they begin to figure out what they are interested in and passionate about in the world.

Outside of school, Katherine is an avid reader and enthusiastic cook. She loves to swim, paddle board, and hike with her pups.
