More about Chris: Chris is thrilled to have the opportunity to join the FBRA team this upcoming year! He reflects fondly on many of the amazing teachers who have had a positive influence on his life since his middle school days and is eager to work with FBRA’s students in the classroom and out in the mountains.
Chris holds a degree in Cognitive Science, in which he investigated the confluence of education and neuroscience. The pursuit of his degree included student-teaching i-STEM classes in public schools and tutoring for GED preparation in correctional facilities. He has spent the past five years working for the Colorado and North Carolina Outward Bound Schools– where he learned to love paddling whitewater rivers.
When not on the rivers, Chris can be found planning his next adventure, perfecting his newest coffee recipe, making homemade pizza or sourdough, or crafting his next lesson plan. Aside from teaching math, Chris is excited to help students realize how math and science can be applied to everyday life, but what’s more– see how problem solving in math can help folks become better community members.
