Melissa Hyman is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter living in Asheville since 2007. She has her BA in Spanish with a minor in History from the University of Vermont (2006), and has been performing, recording and teaching music professionally in many contexts since 2009. In addition to teaching at FBRA, Melissa heads the Children’s Program at the Swannanoa Gathering, does music and art lessons with kids and families at Mission Children’s Hospital through local nonprofit Arts For Life, and teaches little ones under 5 to sing and speak in Spanish as a Bilingual Birdies instructor.
