Busse, Ellie
Science Teacher
FBRA Boys

Ellie is stoked to be part of the FBRA Team, serving as biology teacher. Her combination of a Bachelor’s degree in science, professional experience as a geologist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and a Master’s in secondary science education gives her a solid foundation in the field of science and teaching. Ellie has an adventurous spirit and love of the outdoors, traveling to Costa Rica to kayak for three months and moving out west to pursue skiing in Reno/Tahoe, CA . While west, Ellie earned her Master’s degree in secondary education from University of Nevada, Reno.

Ellie has taught science for seven years both at the middle and high school level.  In addition, Ellie has experience teaching skiing and kayaking both out west and in North Carolina. Combining this experience with her 200Hr Yoga Teacher License from Breathe For Change, Ellie brings a holistic and mindful approach to teaching and classroom management. This certification enables her to incorporate mindfulness and well-being practices into the educational setting, promoting a positive and nurturing learning environment.

During her spare time, Ellie enjoys being on the water: kayaking, rowing, canoeing or on land: hiking, biking, reading, and smiling with her hubby and dog, Zia.
