More About Caitlin: Caitlin is a native of Western North Carolina and spent her childhood hiking, camping, skiing, exploring, and falling in love with the outdoors. After graduating from Asheville High School, she attended Gettysburg College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with minors in Spanish and Anthropology. Throughout her studies, she was drawn to education through presenting shows in Gettysburg’s Hatter Planetarium, assisting in Astronomy labs, and teaching help sessions for physics classes.

After graduating, Caitlin worked in several informal science education roles before moving to Quito, Ecuador, where she taught high school physics at Colegio Menor de San Francisco de Quito for three years. In the years since moving back from Ecuador, she has been enjoying the outdoors by zipline guiding, leading students and friends down Western North Carolina’s rivers, camping any chance she gets, and walking at the “pace of botany” through the beautiful forests to learn and identify native wildflowers. Caitlin is passionate about education, and she looks forward every day to inspiring students in and out of the classroom to grow, lead, and appreciate math.

When she’s not nerding-out about math, physics, and astronomy, you can find Caitlin at the climbing gym, traveling the world, reading the latest fantasy novel, or outside in nature… probably still nerding-out about math, physics, and astronomy.
