Other Distinctions & Specialties: Claxton Elementary 2019 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Allison has many years of experience in Search and Recovery efforts including assisting in locating missing persons and in training Human Remain Detection K9 from all over the U.S. and Canada. She loves working with animals, home projects, and adventuring around the world. Since high school, she has traveled to 45 states and 15 countries with her family and friends.

More About Alex: Mrs. Allison is a WNC native, growing up in Cullowhee and returning to the region after completing her education.  Mrs. Allison is passionate about social emotional health and fostering resiliency.  She works diligently to empower students to become problem solvers of today and tomorrow. She is enthusiastic about STEM and strives to give her students the strongest foundation in math and science that she can provide. Mrs. Allison has high expectations for the rigor and teamwork in the classroom and loves when students show creative thinking in their notes, projects, and even on tests.
