Jordan is thrilled to be on the FBRA team as the 7th Grade Math teacher and Head of Wilderness Medicine. He loves teaching at FBRA because of the nearly endless possibilities to share the things that give him joy: enjoying and sharing the outdoors, learning and performing music, meeting new people and conversing in new languages, and striving for excellence in his work are a few of the things he loves and is excited to share with our students.
Recently, Jordan earned certification as an Instructor Trainer in Whitewater canoe through the American Canoe Association and he looks forward to raising the quality of paddling instruction for FBRA. He also currently holds a Level 5 Advanced Swiftwater Rescue Instructor (ACA), Wilderness First Responder, and PSIA/AASI Alpine Ski Level 1 Instructor certifications
Before FBRA, Jordan worked in Outdoor Education where he taught a variety of river, mountain, and wilderness skills at organizations like the North Carolina Outward Bound School, the Nantahala Outdoor Center, and WISP Mountain Ski School. He graduated from West Virginia University’s Statler College of Engineering, where he also led new student orientation outdoors trips and developed curriculum for the “Science Behind Rock Climbing,” which became a central component of the Science Adventure School established later.
